Meet the 2025 Fall Semester Interns!

Let’s hear from Taya…

“I am a Senior Public Health student with a minor in Japanese, gaining practical experience through my role at Renown Clinical Laboratory. My academic and professional interests center on advancing health outcomes through research, education, and clinical practice. Outside of work and school, I enjoy staying active through workouts and hiking.  I find balance in life with creative outlets such as reading and crocheting. I am looking forward to coaching this season at Lemmon Valley Elementary!”

Nicole, tell us about yourself!

“Hi GOTR friends! I’m from Reno and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno. I feel very passionately about working in underserved communities to affect positive change. The opportunity to intern with Girls on the Run aligns perfectly with my values, as it allows me to support young children in building confidence and effectively communicating their emotions. Additionally, I was drawn to the program’s emphasis on skill development, which is crucial for their future success. Outside of academics, I find great joy in being surrounded by nature, baking, and spending quality time with my friends. This season I will be coaching at Double Diamond Elementary, and I can’t wait to see the program in action!”

Time to meet Grace,

“I’m in my senior year at the University of Nevada, Reno, majoring in Public Health (and hope to add a double major in Nursing). I hope to eventually become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner or a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. When I have free time, I like to play tennis, go to the beach, ski or read. I love spending time with my family, friends and my dogs! I was drawn to Girls on the Run because I strongly believe in empowering girls and helping to build their confidence. I am excited to see how this program impacts not only the girls, but the community around them.”

Be sure to give each of these awesome ladies a welcoming smile and a hello the next time you are in the office, or when you see them at the 5K in November!

Keep shining brightly for all to see, GOTR Family
